This years Jurassic test will take place on the 15th of may, which is the day of the sun.

The Jurassic test is a race created to compare different manners of mobility that use renewable energy, mostly comprised of bikes or light vehicles that use solar, electrical, muscular energy or a combination of any of these. Small electric cars will also be able to compete.
The circuit is situated in the Jura mountains. It is quite demanding and includes the côte de mauborget. The finish line will be in Sainte-Croix.
The goal of this years test will primarily be to promote transportation that is not powered by fossil fuel. But it is also a way to compare some of the models on the market on a challenging course, get the most out of them, and evaluate a few prototypes.

During the 2008 edition, priority was given to "fuel" saving and efficiency, but this year the rules will favour the vehicle that will go from Yverdon to Sainte-Croix the fastest. Although the participants will not be able to recharge during the race, there is no limit as to the amount of energy carried by the vehicle.
A 100 meter sprint will also be organised in Yverdon to show the acceleration of each racer. |
