We are a team of students and teachers at the CPNV (Sainte-Croix) wishing to achieve a few projects in relation with energy and transport without petrol.
We are setting up the "Jurassic Test", a test comparing different bicycles and electric vehicles. This test will take place on Friday, 15 May 2009 (Days of the Sun).
To test vehicles virtually without properly building them, we are developing special programmes, as for instance the "virtual race".
This year, we will develop, amongst other prototypes, the Jurassic Trike 333.

Jurassic test, a strange name for a group that develops and works on electric vehicles. The team is based in Sainte-Croix which, you may think, is not a very appropriate place to be developing electric vehicles.
Winter can last from 5 to 6 months, the weather isn't always ideal and the roads are quite steep, it's quite a hostile climate, a Jurassic climate.
But this disadvantage could well be an advantage. If the crafts can be efficient in these conditions, then we can be sure that they will work even better under "normal conditions" : in places where the roads are flatter and where the sun shines more often. It is for this reason that we decided to base our activities in Sainte-Croix.

Working on projects like the ones that are presented on this site has the following advantages for the students who take part in them :
1. It lets them use some time during their studies to create real sites, programs, conferences, and gives them a chance to discuss with the real actors of our economy.
2. It allows them to partake in something unique. There is still a lot to invent for the most creative of them.
3. They can use the things they learn in class (maths, physics, science, mecanics, electrics, ...) to solve real-life problems. Energy and mobility are both subjects that require a great number of calculations.
4. It helps them develop teamwork skills, and also helps them take on their own responsibilities, therefore letting them become almost completely autonomous (even though a teacher is always there to help).
5. And last but not least it gives them a chance to become aware of a global matter : mobility after petrol. |
